In order for technology transfer to succeed, you need pioneering ideas and entrepreneurial spirit as well as the respective capital. Public funding measures such as GO-Bio support researchers in the early stage of their projects. The further a project progresses, the more important funding from private investors becomes.

Bringing inventors and investors together

Every one and a half to two years, the BMBF hosts the ‘Investmentlounge’ to increase the long-term success of GO-Bio projects and to establish new, sustainable start-ups profitable in the market. Selected founding teams and life sciences start-ups meet with financially strong investors in a relaxing atmosphere. The selected founding teams and start-ups different growth phases pitch their ideas and are given the opportunity for individual conversation.

Getting international investors on board

The invent to acquire capital isn’t just crucial to the GO-Bio teams, but also to the investors who can profit from it: venture capital funds, corporate venture funds, family offices and business angels receive access to new and highly profitable life sciences business concepts, worth investing in. In 2016, 20 founding teams successfully pitched their projects to 30 investors. From 2018 on, the event will have an international orientation. With the aim of implementing the project successfully and sustainably, investors from Germany and abroad are welcome.
